Morning devotion with the children—then out upon the ice with them. R. has good news concerning Herr Unger; God grant that no disappointment may here take root!
Mimi Schl. writes, advising a petition to the Reichstag on the part of the Board of Directors; Bucher thinks the temper there is favourable. Moreover, in so grave a situation no further harm can be done, since nothing helps! … R. in a gloomy mood; I try to move him to resume the biography to-morrow; he promises it. God grant there be no hindrance!
