R. receives a letter from Herr Vogl stating that his wife is with child; thus it becomes necessary to find a new Sieglinde, and R. telegraphs to Frau von Voggenhuber. —

Herr von Hülsen reports that the income from the first performance of “Tristan” amounted to thirteen and some marks ^[1]. — R. has caught a cold, and Fidi also must keep to his room.
