Yesterday a young architect, Stecher, gave R. pleasure; he is the son of one of the earliest enthusiasts for “Tannhäuser”, came to see the theatre, and fell into enthusiasm over my portrait by Lenbach and the drawing by Claire, which delighted R. In the evening R. writes once more to Director Jauner, setting forth precisely what he means, and makes a copy of his letter.
