Diary of Felix Mottl

Dinner at Wagner’s. Asparagus soup. Fish. Roast beef. Chicken. Cream with sponge cake. Dessert. Malaga. Red and white wine. Rhine wine. Champagne. Wagner is very nice. He says that Slavic culture has the greatest future and will take over the culture when Germanic culture has died out. To me, “cosmopolitan” or “internationalist” is synonymous with “scoundrel”!
